Coach Friendly Exmouth

Exmouth Achieves Prestigious CPT Coach Friendly Status!
Exmouth has been officially awarded ‘CPT Coach Friendly’ status, recognising the town’s
commitment to providing excellent facilities and a warm welcome for coach groups and visitors.
This prestigious accreditation, granted by the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT),
highlights Exmouth’s dedication to supporting group travel and enhancing the visitor
experience for domestic and international visitors.
This achievement is the result of a collaborative effort, with Exmouth Town Council working
closely with Stuart Line Cruises and other local partners to improve facilities for visiting
coaches and group travel. The initiative stemmed from the East Devon District Council Coach
Tourism Task and Finish Forum, which identified key opportunities to enhance Exmouth’s
offering for coach operators and their passengers.
Rons Boatman, Tourism Officer at Exmouth Town Council, said: “We are thrilled that Exmouth has been recognised as a CPT Coach Friendly destination. This award reflects our ongoing efforts to improve services for coach operators and group visitors, ensuring that Exmouth remains a top choice for tourism. We look forward to welcoming more visitors to experience everything our town has to offer.”
Lauren and Jake at Stuart Line Cruises, said:
“We’re excited about Exmouth receiving this recognition. As a key player in the local tourism industry, we are proud to have contributed to making the town more accessible for coach groups. This accreditation will help bring even more visitors to Exmouth, benefiting not only our business but the entire community.”
Exmouth’s achievement follows significant efforts to improve coach parking, visitor facilities, and local partnerships, making it easier for groups to explore the town’s beautiful coastline, attractions, and independent businesses.
Group travel can offer a variety of benefits, both practical and social. Here are some of the key advantages:
- Cost Savings: Travelling in a group often means shared costs for accommodations, transportation, and activities. This can make it more affordable, especially for destinations or activities that may otherwise be expensive for individuals.
- Shared Experiences: Traveling with others allows you to create memories together, bond over shared adventures, and enjoy experiences from multiple perspectives. It can make the trip more enjoyable to have companions with you.
- Safety and Support: There’s added security in numbers. In case of emergencies or unexpected situations, having a group can provide extra support and ensure that you’re not alone.
- Social Opportunities: Group travel is a great way to meet new people or strengthen relationships with friends, family, or coworkers. It can lead to deepened bonds and connections.
- More Organized Plans: Group travel often comes with pre-arranged itineraries, meaning you don’t have to stress about planning every detail. The logistics are usually taken care of by a tour company or the group organizer.
- Group Discounts: Many services, including tours, attractions, and restaurants, offer group discounts. This can result in better deals that you wouldn’t get as an individual.
- Variety of Perspectives: Traveling with a group exposes you to different viewpoints and interests, which can enrich your experience and help you discover things you might have missed on your own.
- Safety Net for Solo Travelers: For individuals who might be hesitant to travel alone, group travel can provide the confidence to explore new destinations in a less intimidating setting.
- Stress-Free Travel: Group tours typically handle most of the logistics (like transportation, accommodation, and sightseeing), which can reduce stress and ensure a smoother trip.
- Shared Responsibilities: With more people involved, responsibilities like meal planning, research, and navigation can be shared, which makes the trip less stressful for any one person.
If you enjoy socialising or want to make your trip more hassle-free, group travel can be a great option! Would you be planning a group trip anytime soon?
