Christmas in Devon is a magical time of year – from Carol Services and local food festivals to the Christmas Markets and local Christmas Tree sellers, there is so much to do in Devon at this time of year for all of the family. But family Christmas activities don’t have to be limited to being indoors or on the land – we are proud to offer warming River cruises at this time of year, whilst showcasing some of the best wildlife which Britain has to offer.

The Exe Estuary is an internationally significant wildlife refuge with Ramsar and SSSI status, owing to its prolific migratory bird life between the months of October and March. Our cruises offer the perfect opportunity to observe the hive of activity on the river, with an interesting live commentary which informs passengers about many of the breeding and feeding behaviours of any birds which we may be lucky enough to see along the way.

Our Festive Specials are weatherproof – you cannot get any waves in the River Exe as it is so sheltered from the sea by large sandbanks and our boats are fully prepared for inclement weather, with covered and heated lower decks and a fully licensed bar, serving homemade mulled wine and warm, locally-baked mince pies, as well as a wide variety of other drinks and snacks.
